What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in begins at 4 PM. Early arrivals are not possible because of our limited parking capacity.
Check-out time is 11am unless otherwise approved and confirmed a least 24 hours in advance.
What happens if I am arriving after 10pm?
There are two options:
1.) You may stop by the Hotel entrance and let the Valet know you are checking in for Constellation. They will either direct you to the Constellation building and meet you here to park your vehicle and take your luggage, or they will take your vehicle at the Hotel and accompany both you and your luggage to the Constellation building.
2.) If we are informed in advance, we will ensure the outdoor parking lot gate is left open for you. You may park your vehicle there, enter through the lobby and access your unit via elevator. In this case, Valet would assist with your luggage and re-parking your vehicle in the morning.
Are there bell carts available after-hours, if I want to bring my luggage up to the unit?
Yes, there will be one bell cart available for use between the hours of 10 PM and 7 AM, located in the lobby. We ask that you please promtly return it to the lobby after use, so other guests arriving after-hours may utilize it
How do I get my vehicle when I need it?
Please use the provided phone in your unit to call the Valet extension and let them know your unit number and vehicle type. Please call a minimum of 15 minutes before you need your vehicle.
Are pets allowed at Constellation Luxury Residences?
Not all units are pet friendly. If a unit is pet-friendly, it will be indicated in the listing description. Please always disclose if you intend to bring a pet so we may ensure you are booking a pet-friendly unit.
Is there shuttle service from Constellation to Northstar Village?
Regular shuttle service is not offered, but you may ride the Highlands Gondola to/from the village during operating hours.
However, if the gondola operation is hindered by weather or mechanical difficulites, a shuttle will be available. The shuttle pick up/drop off is directly in front of the building, and typically arrives every 30 minutes.
Can I use the pool or hot tubs at The Ritz-Carlton?
No, but you may use the private Constellation hot tubs at your convenience; between 7am-10pm daily. Additionally, if you book a service at the Highlands Spa, you will have access to the spa's pool at the Hotel.
Do I need chains for my vehicle during winter?
Carrying chains in general is always recommended for your safety. If you are not driving a vehicle with BOTH 4WD/AWD and snow tires, you should absolutely carry chains with you, which fit your vehicle, and know how to install them. It’s recommended to purchase them in advance as local supplies sell out quickly during storms. Please note, due to liability reasons we cannot install chains for guests or give instruction.
My children have ski lessons booked, where do I meet the instructor?
For group lessons, they typically require you to meet in Northstar Village. For private lessons, they can meet you just outside the Constellation building on the slopes.
*PLEASE NOTE: The Highlands Gondola is typically closed on Wednesdays for maintenance. If you need to meet in the village on Wednesdays, please plan ahead to drive. Northstar also typically offers shuttle service every 30 minutes, on Wednesdays, picking up right in front of the building.
We are celebrating a special occasion and want the unit decorated or a custom cake ordered. Can you help?
Yes! Our Concierge would be more than happy to assist with requests like this, to make your stay memorable. Please call or inquire through yoru reservations portal a minimum of 7 days in advance for special requests like this.

Can I order room service from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel?
No, but you may enjoy dining in-person at any of the restaurants or cafes in the Hotel, or order food to-go.
DoorDash may also be available for restaurant delivery. Please see our Concierge for ordering tips, to ensure your order arrives to the correct building.
I have a friend who wants to come ski with us. Can they park at the Constellation building?
Unfortunately, no. Our capacity for parking is extremely limited and we are not able to accommodate day visitors. If your friends park at Northstar Village and ride the Highlands Gondola up, they can meet you at the Constellation building.
What services does Ski Valet provide?
1.) Ski, board and boot storage.
2.) Assistance and advice related to gear or mountain conditions.
3.) Waxing service:
Currently, ski valet offers hand waxing for $25/pair of skis or a snowboard. Waxing is done between 5pm-8am. Please request this service the day prior, if you would like your skis or board freshly waxed for the next morning.
Please note, waxing services at ski valet must be paid by cash only. Room charges are not available.
I don’t ski or snowboard, what is there for me to do in the winter?
There is plenty for you to enjoy! In the Constellation building, you may choose to use the fitness center and/or the private hot tubs. At the Hotel, you may enjoy the cozy ‘Living Room’, any of the restaurants as well as the spa facilities and outdoor fire pits (spa appointments are required in advance). In Northstar Village, you may choose to do some shopping, get a coffee, enjoy some ice skating or even catch a movie at the theater. Finally, downtown Truckee is a 15-20 minute drive with a variety of wonderful shops, eateries, galleries and more.
It’s snowing and I don’t want to drive to the grocery store, what do I do if I need groceries?
DoorDash, Just Better Delivery and Instacart are available for grocery shopping and delivery from Raley’s ONE Market or Safeway.

Getting Here
From Reno–Tahoe International Airport (RNO): ~60 minutes
Exit the airport to US-395/I-580 North and follow signs for I-80. Reno-Tahoe International Airport
Merge onto I-80 West toward Reno/Sacramento.
Take Exit 188 for CA-267 (Truckee Bypass); continue 6 miles south.
Turn right onto Highlands View Road; continue ~2.9 miles.
Make a left to turn onto The Ritz-Carlton property.
When the road forks, stay RIGHT and follow the road up until it dead-ends at the Constellation building.
From the Bay Area & Sacramento
Travel east on I-80 to Truckee (approx. 185 mi from San Francisco; 105 mi from Sacramento).
Take Exit 188B for CA-267; drive 6 miles south.
Turn right onto Highlands View Road; continue ~2.9 miles.
Make a left to turn onto The Ritz-Carlton property.
When the road forks, stay RIGHT and follow the road up until it dead-ends at the Constellation building.
From South Lake Tahoe / Stateline — West Shore route
US-50 West ~3 mi → CA-89 North through Emerald Bay ~27 mi.
Right onto CA-28 (N. Lake Blvd.) ~9 mi → Left onto CA-267 for 6 mi.
Left onto Highlands View Road; continue ~2.9 miles.
Make a left to turn onto The Ritz-Carlton property.
When the road forks, stay RIGHT and follow the road up until it dead-ends at the Constellation building.
From South Lake Tahoe / Stateline — East Shore route
US-50 East ~12 mi → Left onto CA-28 toward Incline Village ~18 mi.
Right onto CA-267 for 6 mi → Left onto Highlands View Road.
Continue ~2.9 miles.
Make a left to turn onto The Ritz-Carlton property.
When the road forks, stay RIGHT and follow the road up until it dead-ends at the Constellation building.
Note: Constellation Luxury Residences are located mid-mountain at Northstar, reached via CA-267; allow extra time during winter conditions.
